A render showing the modern design concept of the Mac Point Multipurpose Stadium in Hobart, Tasmania.

Exciting times are ahead for Hobart as the Macquarie Point Multipurpose Stadium moves closer to becoming a reality, and Perfectly Paired is proud to play a key role in bringing this major project to life. In partnership with Cox Architecture, we are contributing our hospitality consultancy expertise to help shape a venue that promises to be much more than just a stadium—it will be a community hub and a hallmark of Tasmanian culture.

Innovative Design for an Unmistakably Tasmanian Venue

Designed by Cox Architecture in collaboration with local practice Cumulus Studio, the Macquarie Point Multipurpose Stadium is set to redefine the standard for fan experiences in Tasmania. The stadium’s innovative design will feature a stunning combination of timber and steel, topped with a fixed ETFE translucent roof, offering a modern take on the state’s maritime and industrial heritage.

As COX Director Stuart Harper describes, “The fully roofed stadium design showcases Tasmanian timber technology, delivers something special for each user and integrates hospitality with heart: all contributing to a presence and fan experience that will be unmistakably Tasmanian.”

Perfectly Paired’s Role: Enhancing the Hospitality Experience

Key Highlights of the Stadium

  • A 1,500-person function room with views to Kunanyi/Mount Wellington

  • A design informed by modelling cricket ball trajectory data to ensure it's ready to host the best quality cricket games

  • A stage pocket in the northern stand to support concerts and events, minimising impact on the field and reducing costs for event operators

  • Easy-to-follow and accessible design features—including a single continuous concourse that services the whole stadium, enabling fans to enter any gate and easily find their seat

  • A seating bowl design that will bring crowds closer to the action

  • Below-ground service roads that separate vehicles from stadium users, ensuring smooth operations for back-of-house and catering teams
